    tank cleaning
what do you guys use to clean your tanks with? going to wash the carpet but I am also wondering if I should use something specific that won't bother my ball when I place her back inside.
    would windex alone work?
    thanks.

    I would not use windex.

I use f10 and it does a good job.

You can use a little bit of liquid dish soap and warm water, just make sure you rinse everything very well before putting the snake back in.

Windex no. F10 is good. Dish soap is ok but you have to rinse which can be a pain. I use vinegar. Wipes up nicely like windex, is non-toxic, is mildly anti-bacterial, gets rid of any stink and it is cheap.

I use dilute dish soap or vinegar. Mostly vinegar.

Wash the carpet? Through the carpet away and use something else. Reptile carpet is a breeding ground for bacteria.

Chlorhexidine is what I use to clean my reptile enclosures and all their furniture that can be cleaned w it.

This guy (or girl) got it right. Throw it away and use something different.

I personally use the Natural Habitat Healthy Habitat spray. I usually buy it in a 1 gallon container and clean everything with it. I love it because it's natural and I don't worry about accidentally poisoning my snakes.

I too use Chlorhexadine for cages, hides and even water bowls. I also use it as a rinse on my hands inbetween cage to cage affairs.

Another +1 to Chlorhexadine. I use it to clean everything. The only issue is that once mixed it will begin to break down so I only mix enough for about two weeks worth of cleaning. I'm also with the others saying get rid of the carpet. I used it for two days as i got some for free. Threw it out on day 3.
