Probably safe for the snake. I've seen several posts with thermometers or hygrometers in the cage, however, your snake will knock it over at some point. Also, you'd really need to stay on top of the batteries, check often any corrosion. I used to have a wireless thermometer, the kind where the sensor is placed in one room and the gauge can be places elsewhere, and my snake seemed to enjoy "cuddling" the sensor. It was way to big to eat, nearly the size of a computer mouse, but I'd find him looped over it almost every morning...it threw off the temps by about 6 degrees :rolleyes:

Yes that is fine. I personally keep that in a tub on one shelf and put the probe in another tub on another shelf to get two readings. :gj:

Yeah it will work fine. I use Acurite temp/humidity gauges in all my cages and they work fine. The one thing is your snake will mow it down and probably half bury it in the aspen and if they are anything like my big BCI girl, they will leave a turd half on it which makes for a fun cleanup.

I have an acurite as well got both at the same time to see which one was better,, this one has a probe too but I don't work well
