Why is my bp not eating!!

It has been about 2 weeks since my bp has eaten... I keep buying rats in hope that he will eat them but he is not.

Hi, do you have the specifics on the temps, ambient and hot spot? Also we need the warm side and cool side temp as well as the humidity percentage? The half log hides really are inadequate as it relates to security for the reptile. You are going to need a hide that has only one way in and one way out. The hide should be a tight fitting one.

In 90 % of the cases with a new owner it is husbandry related

Lack of security (enclosure too big, hide too big, temps to low etc), stress (due to husbandry issue, over handling etc)

What I see here is a large empty enclosure, with hide that do not provide enough security.

At a 100 grams I would have this animal in a 6 quarts tub, 15 at the most with one or 2 flower pot saucers for hide, aspen for bedding, and temps of 86 on the warm side.

No handling until the animal eats with consistancy, and offer food in the enclosure.

Aproxometly 85 on hot and 83 on cold, I am in the proses of adding more greenery and logs, humidity is a little high only because he is Almost done with his shed

73F is kind of cold. I would try to get it to a minimum of 78F. Of course if you have 2 of the same hides( 1 on cool side and 1 on hot side) it should be ok. Key is to make sure the hides are the same kind. Sometimes snakes like a certain hide and if that hide is on the cool side, the snake will sacrifice warmth for security thus creating a problem. Like Deborah said, use those little plastic flower pot saucers. I got em at Home Depot when my little girl was a baby and just used a pair of scissors to cut a half moon door and filed the edges smooth. She loved those things and used em until she was way too big for them. It looked like she was wearing them as hats when she was curled up under them. I then upgraded her to Reptile Basic hides which she loves too.
