    Need Recommendation for Thermostat
Im looking to upgrade my cheap Hydrofarm thermostat. Its being used in my GTP's enclosure to power a 40w radiant heat panel and it doesnt seem to work very well. Whats a decent thermostat that costs under $80?

Herpstat all the way. They can be set for on/off and proportional operation, which is a big plus with RHPs.

Depends on your needs and future plans. I have a Herpstat 1, 2, and a 4 that runs my collection.I also have another 1 as a backup.

Think about what you want to run and how your collection may grow and make the choice that is right for you.

The Herpstat 1 will be over $80.00, I think it is $129 or $139. You might look at the Herpstat Basic which I believe is $89 or $99.

Reptile Basics VEs....... but $80 isn't really going to get you anything better than you already have.

This is like asking about underware.........

Herpstat 1 is one of the best you can get. A standard in the industry.

    Re: Need Recommendation for Thermostat
Why go inexpensive for one of the most important pieces of husbandry equipment? Consider saving and investing in a quality thermostat. A Herpstat. Just my thought.

I don't remember reading the part where you wanted a tstat under $80. I think I just got excited about a GTP and tstat convo.

Don't go cheap on your tstat. You didn't go cheap on the snake, so why do so on the tstat? Save up a bit more money and get one that will last the life of the animal.

I say get at least the Herpstat 1. RHPs can be a little harder to get and keep right and having a good tstat really helps.

I have my Herpstat 2 running my GTP cage. One outlet for the RHP and the other for his lights.
