    Interesting Spider x Ghost clutch..thoughts?
    Hi All,

Had 6 hatchlings from a Spider x Ghost pairing, and specifically have two which are very interesting, along with 2 normal and 2 (nice) spiders which take after their mother (All het. ghost).

I am aiming to keep them as Dinkers but interested on opinions on what these could be please.

    Thanks

    First, the Parents:

    Male: Ghost

You're right, those are interesting. Clear bellies really aren't that unusual, but those head patterns have me intrigued.

Me too. In fact before I made it to the hatchling pics I thought the male looked like more than just ghost. Are you sure there is nothing else in the male? He has pretty great blushing in the dorsal pattern like a Fire would. Is the female Spider a virgin and if not, what was she paired with previously? Cool dinkers to play with.

Got anymore pics of the Spider female? Perhaps baby pics? She looks like she has fire in her.

#5 and #6 look like they're fires or vanillas, or something along those lines.

Everything else looks like normals and spiders het ghost :gj:.

Definitely worth dinking around with! Congrats on the healthy babies :gj:!

    Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yes, was also thinking in terms of fire or vanilla, but in regard to that...would fire or vanilla expression be as variable as I see it in those two? Or is the difference just due to how the patterning differs?

Here's two more photos of #5 and #6 together showing how they compare:

Unfortunately I bought both parents at near adult so no baby photos...the spider was an import so I won't be able to track her parentage but the ghost I'm busy trying to get hold of the guy who bred him out to find out what the parents were.

And yes, Spider was virgin, this is her first pairing.

In terms of spider/vanilla, in the spider hatchlings, what would be the points to look for to identify a spider hatchling vs a spider fire or spider vanilla hatchling?

your spider has the fire spider look. but none of the spider hatchlings has it. 5 and 6 look like fires. for information i just hatch one fire spider last year bu it can be mistaken with spiders. could be a fire like gene of course.
