humid hides are the key to it all. I have found that they work the best for me and I don't really have to worry about humidity during shed time which is great. Since I have started using a humid hide, every shed has been flawless. go to the store...get some disposable gladware containers or a very small rubbermaid food container and put some damp paper towels in there. Put it on the warm side and your set. Perfect shed for about $2.00.

glad that i can help. :)

oh ya....dont forget to cut a nice hole(not too big) for your snake somewhere in the container, leave the lid on. I put my access hole in the side but I have seen some in the top. Your preference. And if you dont feel like using paper towels, I have used moss too (which i kind of liked because you could tell the hide was being used by the trail of moss leading away for the hide, but your nice complete sheds get all mossy). I like the rubbermaid container type hides because they contain the moisture very very well. They are also good to have just incase an eye dent shows up for some reason.

i have a rubbermaid type of container that i bought to use as a humid hide for nellie but now that i don't use glass aquariums anymore i don't need the extra humidity. i crumpled up a piece of newspaper and put that in the hide instead of moss and nellie spends just about all her time in that there now when she's not out roaming around at night. the newspaper helps add a sense of security as well as interest, so when you aren't using the rubbermaid as a humid hide you can always try that for something different.
