Dreadfully sorry, Moneypenny. I've used them in the past - but for too long I've been a build-yer-own kinda guy. I know Mle's in your camp though - and we've a couple users with mac right in their names to boot.

This is going to spawn a "show us your rig" thread isn't it :P

oh yes, i'm a mac girl all the way. :) i have a dual g4 right now. pretty nice machine if i may say so myself. i use both mac and pc at work--i'm a web designer so i need to test sites on both platforms to make sure that everything is working properly all around. for the most part i do the designing on the mac and test and do other stuff on the pc like send out mass e-mails, etc.

macs are best for kids to learn how to use computers. My mother is a computer lab technician for an elementary school and all they use is macs...the entire school. Macs were the first type of computer I have ever used and I still like them........but I got stuck using a crappy HP. Seems like all the engineering software is not made for macs. :(

There are those in my family that are die hard Mac fans.. to the point of being 'racist' against windows. *lol*

In fact, we still have an OLD Mac SE/30. I first learned how to use computers on that thing.. when I was 2. We also had a 286. Ah.. memories.

My mom just got a brand new fancy Mac. The name escapes me, but there is no tower, the motherboard and everything is contained right behind the monitor (which is a lovely 17' widescreen).

Personally I'm using a dinosaur. It's a '98 HP with Windows xp. It's a blazin' 500 MHz. My dad is helping me build a new computer.

I have a Gateway, but it has 3000 parts from other computers. And, it's a nice big fat POS. *grumble*

Hmm, well, the first home computer I ever had was an Apple, but it was a IIe, before there was such a thing as Mac. We then moved on to a Zenith PC and I've only used Apple when forced to since. But then, I've always been one to swap components, write scripts, etc., and that's a lot easier for me to do on non-Apple platforms.

The first computer we had was an IBM PcJr. My friend had an apple IIc :) I've used Mac's, but I haven't messed with them since the early 90's. I wouldn't count the stints I did in the computer lab. Every mac we had in the computer lab seemed to be broken about 90% of the time for some reason or another. I haven't messed around with the new Mac OS but I hear it's pretty sweet.

I just work on a Win XP machine at home, built it myself. Not 100% top of the line, but it'll handle just about any game other than HL2. In fact, it could probably handle HL2, but you'd have the crank the game down quite a bit.

I myself am a billy fan. I really never had any problem with windows that everyone talks about security holes, slowness, and crashing. And trust me I have gone deep into the computer world pushed my computer to its limits good old windows has never really let me down. I guess if you keep some brute force under the hood it works good. Plus im a gamer I really have no choice.
