Other than ball pythons

Hi everyone one. So I just bought a new rack system http://www.cserpents.com/C_Serpents_...Sub-Adult.html the 5 tub version. In the future I'd like to get something other than a ball python. Do you all have any suggestions?

I think carpets are too nice of a display snake to be housed in racks :). Maybe try a colubrid like a kingsnake or bull snake.

IMHO, colubrids are too active to be content in a rack.

I agree totally, but more so.

Due to the active climbing nature of Carpets, I think it is wrong to put them in a tub UNLESS, I stress UNLESS you take them out very often and let them climb. (Maybe wrong is a too strong of a word, more like a bit unethical.)

It's just not in their nature to be cooped up so, unlike a Ball Python.

Wouldn't Carpets be too big to keep in a rack anyway ? I'm watching this thread as I really want to know too!
I do like the children's python, sadly never actually seen one anywhere near where I am so I most likely won't see any in expos xP

TYPICALLY, Jungles get 5-7 feet, Coastals 7-9 feet. IJ's 5 feet +/-. Intergrades, various lengths. Obviously there are examples out of this norm.

Racks can be adapted. I know a local Retic breeder that uses racks unless they get pretty big, 10-14 feet.

D'oh! I failed reading comprehension about the rack when I suggested carpets.

My spotted python, however, would probably be happy in a rack. She spends most of her time hiding, and could completely ignored the jungle gym she had for a while.

Savu pythons, the smaller locality boas, African house snakes, and hognose snakes are all options.

Definitely disagree with this. Most of the colubrids I've kept have been very happy in their rack systems through several different generations over the past 30 years. Corn snakes, King snakes and Milk snakes do very well in rack systems.
