    Cleaning supplies?
My young BP pooped in one of her hides that has a floor but only on the edges of the bottom of the hide. The poop was runny and got everywhere in the hide. It is really hard to clean with just water and a sacrificed toothbrush. I tried to scrub it out yesterday but it still smells today. Is there anything that I can soak it in or something that will clean better than water that won't be toxic for my snake. Thank you!

Find hides without bottoms or cut the bottom off of that one.

I was planning on cutting it off and smoothing off the edges but I would still like to clean it more. What do you use to clean your hides?

I use a cleaner meant for dogs in the cage, and a dish soap for hides. May not be the best though...

If it's plastic scrub it as best you can with soap and warm water, then disinfect with F10 or clorhexadine.

If it's wood throw it away and buy a new one, you're not getting all of the crap out of the pores.

I use the hides from Reptile Basics and green soap.

Actually if the hide is small enough to fit, it goes in the dishwasher.

I too use Reptile Basic hides. They work great and the few times my snakes have decides the outside corners were places to hang their butt over and poop on the side of the hide, liquid dish soap like dawn and hot water followed by Chlorhexadine worked wonders. I tend to keep my snakes and beardie cages VERY clean as they get lots of outside time and I don't want a poop covered snake or lizard lounging on me or my bed or couch :colbert:

Dish soap for cleaning and a diluted bleach (active ingredient = sodium hypochlorite) for disinfecting/deodorizing. Rinse well when done.

If the hide is made of an absorbent material like cardboard or untreated wood, I'd just discard it.
