Buying ball python

    hey guys, i want to buy ball python. i ound one petshop in my cuty that haves 1.5 years old male 1 meter long . i post the pictures and pls tell me if the bp looks ok.
    the human in pet shop told me that he burns his skin on the light . many red dots appears in his skin but now is okay. i found skin problem front of his mouth. told me one time the bp stop eating for 6MONTHS but now eating normal . tell me ur comments pls :)

    Burns, red dots, skin problems, and fasting? Personally, I wouldn't pay money for someone else's problems.

    Yeah, definitely not. You're asking for trouble, and you want as an enjoyable and stress free time as you can get with your first BP. I recommend buying captive bred from a breeder. You'll get a healthy, feeding, beautiful snake, and often for less money than they ask for at the pet stores.

    definately not. Go to www.constrictors.com and email Mike Wilbanks, He is really nice, and has quality animals for good prices. I think they are 50-75$ including shipping (wich is 30$). I got one from him and I am really satisfied.

    I have a feeling that the original poster lives outside of the United States. If so, shipping from Mike would probably be closer to a few hundred dollars (at least, depending on where it's going), after you factor in CITES permits and the overseas cargo charges.

    Finding local breeders outside of the United States is tough, but certainly possible. Ozone, what country are you from, maybe someone can point you in a better direction than a pet store?

    Canada would be the same. It's illegal to use an overnight carrier like UPS or FedEx to ship a ball python to Canada.

    Dont support pet stores that treat their pets badly.
    If people continue to buy goods from inhumane stores, you are helping that store stay in business and they will continue to buy and sell sick or hurt animals.
    Give your business to the companies that deserve it.

    eh i live in cyprus (europe, near greece) i found a breeder that work on reptiles for 30 years! but he give me female bp for $300 . 60-70 cm.
