    Feeding age?
    Hi all,

I know your suppose to feed babies about as many crickets as they want. But as my beardie grows crazy fast he is a monster when it comes to eating! He is 4 months. Should I be limiting his cricket intake or still unlimited?

Also what age is it safe to start giving some meal worms or super worms?

    Thanks!

    Hi there!
When my beardie was young, I gave him anywhere to 12-20 crickets daily along with collard greens.
And about the mealworms and suerworms. I personally don't feed mealworms because of the dangers of it. But superworms are fine. But I would wait till your beardie is close to an adult to feed them because they are large and have a hard outer shell. Some good options for babies are silkworms, wax worms, phoenix worms, and Dubia roaches.
    Hope I helped

My Beardie will easily run down up to 40-50 crickets. I tend to limit him to 35-40 and he eats all his salad. He is a pig. But not a fat pig, so I don't really mind. He has shed three times in the last 30 days.

He is going to make me breed crickets, I feel it.

I wouldnt feed mealwroms at all.

At no age is it completely safe to feed mealworms or super worms to your bearded dragon. Their stomachs cannot process the exoskeletons well enough which could lead to impaction.

My girl used to polish off about 50 dubias a day as a baby. I fed her as much as she wanted. She just ate, ran and popped. they will slow down with age. now she eats probably about 5 large dubias along with collard greens. King worms are fine as soon as they hit about 16". It's because there is a kink in their digestive tract which doesn't really become big enough for King worms until around 16". I would limit her to around 5-6 king worms a day though. most beardies will eat a ton of them though if you let them. Meal worms are pointless though, they have very few nutrients but lots of chitin. BTW meal worms and king worms are not the same if you didn't know. King worms are ok but are kind of fatty like wax worms.
