Well a merry christmas to me ...
I came home from work tonight to arrive to a dead ball python.

My pastel banana male has somehow passed on. Im distraught. He was on a mixture of endroll newspaper and paper towels. He had eaten for me, and was just going into shed.

His hot end was 88 to 90, humidity at 50 to 60, increased to 70 when i noticed his shed.

im so upset i cant even think straight and im just... ugh. I checked the cameras of my snake room and the assistant did everything she was supposed to, wash up and clean off before entering, and never handles any snakes in the room unless shes cleaning, but today is not cleaning day. She helped balance his humidity like she knows how to im jusy ugggh

i mean im not just upset over the money thats now dead, i freaking adored my little banana boy. Sure he seemed blind at times but he was cute and was my pocket snake. Im just... im extremely upset.

The nearest vet to me was just called and he mentioned autopsy, but i dont have that money right now after christmas. Im lost as to what to do.

So sorry to hear that. Maybe you can make an agreement with the vet to pay the bills later? When there's no issues with the husbandry, is better to know what happened for the health of the remaining snakes.
