Humidity?

Hi everybody, I keep my 20 gallon tank at about 40% humidity, but I have heard of keeping your ball python at anything between 30%-90%, but I am not sure what the actual number is, if you could help me out that would be great, thanks, Ethan:gj:

I keep my bp's about 65 most of the time. When I see one begin to blue prior to shed I give them an extra spray an bring it up to 70-75 for a few days and so far I have gotten pretty clean sheds from them.

Now when your BP starts to shed, you'll want to up the humidity to about 70% so your BP can shed with ease.

That's probably where you're getting a bit confused.

I can get the humidity to that range, but after a little bit, it drops back, is there anything I can use to keep a constant appropriate humidity? Sphagnum? Shedding box? Anything would be great!

I used to have to deal with bad humidity in my glass tanks, I found its good during shed cycle or any low humidity scenario to either cover the screen top of my tanks with either A: Damp towel B: Saran Wrap/ Tinfoil

Just be cautious of overhead heating/lighting and leave some air flow

from what ive heard tinfoil works the best out of the options listed above. i use tubs and when trying to raise the humidity i use 'the sock trick'. take a clean sock, soak the end of it in warm water, fold the sock back into its self and place over the heat sorce. this last far longer than misting and does not spike the humidity out of nowhere but raises it slowly and keeps it up. with you set up i would try tinfoil over part of the cage.

I have a ceramic and a UTH heater, how would I use the 'sock trick' in this case?
