Breeding female switches to live prey
So I have two females that have been on ft since I got them, when I started breeding this year they both went off food. I tried changing the prey size and fending days and times and nothing. Then on a hunch I tried live and guess what, they talked the rats without hesitation. I'm not complaining as I'm just happy they are eating, but has anyone else had this happen? Also if this isn't the right place for this feel free top move it.

Unfortunately I'm familiar with this. Had my big girl eating f/t for 7 months or so, and now that she's developing her follicles she's only taking live, not even pre-killed. Before she laid last year she would also only eat live. She was so voracious after laying her eggs she went onto f/t no problem.

My big pinstripe girl was also on f/t up until about 1.5 months ago. She started refusing and I haven't bothered trying to feed her live as I believe she is going to lay her eggs in a week.

Good to know it's not just my snakes lol [emoji13] it was just so sudden and made me worried because I was just starting to breed and needed them to gain lots of weight. Oh well I'm just happy they're eating.
