    Critical health problem! Head SQUEEZED!
    Hello all!
My ball python got his head stuck inside of a thermometer's clip. What I mean by this is that the clip was closed but Henry squeezed his head into there, and since it is spring loaded, he couldn't get out. It was squeezing his head for a good minute before I heard him thrashing about and quickly pulled open the clip. He is seemingly perfectly fine: No behavior changes, no weird sounds, no abnormal bruises or injuries, but I wanted to get others opinion on him, just in case. Here is a link to the exact thermostat:
    http://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-00613A.../dp/B0013BKDO8
And if it helps, he is around 4.5-5 month old and 80 (about) grams.
    Thank you!

Since we can't see him, we can't really give an opinion any better than yours... if you think he looks fine and acts fine, then he's probably fine!

Also, that's a thermometer, not a thermostat. I believe you can remove the clip off the back though, unless I have a different type.

Wow, glad you were near by for the rescue!

I have a bunch of those Acu-rites, but mine don't have that clip. I bought mine at Wal-Mart and some at Amazon. All of mine have magnets in the back rather than clips. I reckon they changed it.

Cut or break that clip off if you have not done so already. Sand any rough spots smooth.

if you can't see anything wrong with Henry I would not worry, but would check on him often just in case.

He does have a skull, and since it was Not a blow to the head he is probably ok.

Oviously if you see any neurological issues (balance problems, visible shaking, or you feel tremors) get him to the Vet ASAP.

And don't beat yourself up over this. Now you know how easily they can get into trouble. :)

Thanks for giving everyone a heads up on this. Glad I took my clips off!! I think your snake will be fine just keep an eye on him.
