    Thermostat Help
I recently bought a Hydrofarm Jump Start thermostat and was wondering about some odd behavior.
The thermostat makes a loud clicking sound every time it switches from heating to non-heating. Is this normal or defective behavior?

Normal! It's just turning on and off.

Yup and fyi you will hear it a lot . It is essentially like the thermostat that controls a home furnace. That is the the circuit that powers the element being switched on and off. That is why people don't like these for heat lamps. it will look like a strobe light.
