    Breeding without incubators
Hi, i'm a new member here. i just got into ball pythons. i've been reading a lot of care sheets and watching a lot of videos on breeding ball pythons and i've noticed a lot of people used incubators. there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on breeding without them. i was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever bred them without incubators.

If you google "maternal incubation", you'll find a lot of info.

    Here's one: http://www.bobclark.com/articles/200603.html

We also have this stickied thread here on a member's experience with maternal incubation: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...nal-Incubation

Not that I have any personal experience with breeding at all, but I was just recently looking into maternal incubation (for no particular reason) as well. :P

There is also a sticky in the top of this forum on Maternal Incubation, by Quiet Tempest. I did MI a couple years ago and greatly enjoyed it -- I will do it again. Both with ball pythons, and the other species of python I keep. It is really, really easy, so long as you don't go overboard on heat or especially moisture. A tub or simple tank in which you can successfully keep the female can usually be modified to allow her to brood her eggies . . . Or is already good to go, depending on your setup.

While I wholeheartedly recommend it, and fully researching it ahead of time, I do also have to recommend having an incubator (even a simple, cooler-incubator) on standby just in case.
