Glass tank air flow

Hey there!
Recently I converted the screen top for my Ball Python's 20 gallon terrarium into a more solid top, to keep humidity and heat in. I did this by converting the top with aluminum foil, and taking it down using duct tape. I used one of the stickies on the caging forum as a guide.

I was wondering though, if the air hole I have is enough for proper air for my BP. The lid is aid proof except for the 6 by 5 inch air hole I made.
Is this good enough?
Is this safe for my snake?

There's no reason that shouldn't be enough air flow.

Since there is a large amount of tape, I will say this. Please, please make sure there is 0, I mean 0, of the sticky edge showing. If there is any the snake will get stuck. Let me speak from experience, unsticking a snake from duct tape is not fun. The tape is dangerous for them and is not advisable for use on an enclosure.

Hey Ashram,
thanks for the fast reply! The only part that might be accessible to my snake is the tape securing down the edges of the air hole (So humidity won't be able to escape from the other side of the cage. Of course, there is a screen under the air hole, so only his tongue can possible touch the tape, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Well, I have Kings, so I can't really address the more laid back BP, but speaking from my own experience, if they can possibly get into trouble, they will.

One of the problems with sticky tape (of any kind) is that while the keeper takes pains to really stick it down, and make the edges secure, the humidity in the tank will lift up those edges just a bit. Bring an inquisitive snake into this picture...
