When to expect eggs?

Assuming that my BP breeding that is going on produces eggs, when can I expect them to be laid. I want to make sure I have the incubator in place and running for a week at the right temps so I can make adjustments. Thanks!

Females typically ovulate after they are warmed up in mid-March thru April.

Usually 7 to 20 days after ovulation females will shed. Eggs are laid between 24 and 34 days after that post ovulation shed.

I generally turn my incubator on in early march after I bring my temps back up to normal.

I am a little confused. I have been advised by some to stop putting them together around the 1st or 2nd week of February and go back to regular temps. But if they dont ovulate until march or april, how is fertilization going to happen? They have been introduced since the last week in November. Thanks Adam!

Personally, I think that you've been advised to stop way too early. Some of my strongest observed copulations are in March. I start my warm up in march and keep putting males in with females until they will no longer copulate.

Female typically ovulate anywhere from 6 to 30 days after their last observed copulation. They store the males sperm until they are ready to release their follicles.

So I should go ahead and leave them together until they wont copulate (currently it is 5 days a week they are doing it) anymore? Bring my temps back up and then just keep them going until they have no more interest? Thanks Adam. Great info here!

Yup. Keep putting them together. Once your female ovulates she won't want to have anything to do with the male (or you either!) ...LOL

haha..Will do. I am hoping for some success. Once I am sure she is gravid I will get to work on the incubator. I am thinking hovabator for the first time around unless something better is out there. I am not into the DYI stuff or i would have build the 6 enclosures i have been talking about.
