    Jynx's Tank Makeover
Today I finally got the chance to glue in my inserts for the back of Jynx's tank and add the fake plants. Also changed up the bedding in hopes of fixing my humidity issues. I also taped some aluminum foil to the outside of the back and one side of the tank to hopefully help hold in a little more heat since his ambient temps have been a little cold for my liking. So far I'm super happy with the results and how the whole thing turned out!http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...3bf246d7c5.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...920b1f3b5f.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...446367a6a4.jpg

i love your animal prints and dragon skull. :)

is your tank top also made of glass? is that a heat lamp with a regular bulb or ceramic heat emitter? i think u might just be warming the glass instead of the ambient air if it's just rest there tho.

i keep 2 of my BP's - Elphaba and Fiyero - in separate 18 gallon tanks myself with a screen top and heat lamp and undertank heater so i know the challenges of glass tank husbandry. i got them and the tanks when i thought i would stop at two BP's. i think i'll be switching to ceramic heat emitters on a lamp dimmer tho.

It's a screen top covered with plastic wrap. It's a ceramic heat emitter and a a heat mat. So far the foil has been working as an insulator. His tank is also a little close to my window so it loses heat fast, fine in the summer not so great right now. I wanted to try something that could be easily removed if it wasn't working or getting too warm. I'm super happy with how everything turned out! I still have some more stuff is like to add but I'm going little by little haha. My baby girl is in I think a 20gal aquarium that's holding heat much better with the pad an Che. In the summer I don't even need the emitters on.

Ps the animal print is a reflection lol he actually has a faux wood inset so the back looks kinda like a tree haha

the cool thing about tanks is that u can decorate it.

    here's my Elphie's original setup:

    now it looks like this:

and Fiyero went from this tub:

    to this tank:

husbandry can be an issue, but i've done a good job. no bad sheds, missed meals, illness, etc. good husbandy can be achieved in different ways. just stay on top of your temps and humidity in tanks.

Edit: i would love to see an animal print background in a tank tho. :)

When I move up Sadie to a bigger enclosure I might make and animal print theme now haha. Usually it's not so bad to keep my husbandry where it should be, just the past couple of months the weather has been crazy making husbandry situations a little frustrating. Can't wait to get more stuff off of my decor wish list though I really do love making my display enclosures!
