Brazilian Rainbow Boa always in cold water
So I got a 4 year old BRB. She's a very calm, nice snake that seems to be doing great. I have a large tank with a cool side and a warm side. Some times she's in her big hide on the warm side, but more often than not, she's submerged in her water bowl. It's on the cool side of the tank and when I pulled her out to handle her yesterday, the water was surprisingly cold. The tank is around 75 degrees in the middle of the tank on the ground. The humidity is always 70 or more.
Is is it normal for her to stay in the cold water? Seems odd to me but I'm a new snake owner. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks all, love the website.

She might need higher humidity, and maybe check for mites too just to be sure

Don't have a BRB, however 3 of my constrictors spend most of the time in the water which is on the cool side, especially in the winter, regardless of humidity; my oldest Coastal, BCI Boa, and Jungle Carpet.
Plus my new BCC started out in the water, or rather tried. As you can see he is way too big for that bowl!

I despair though when I read , in the other threads , just how many people keep BRBs in almost desert conditions but give them a little moist humid hide !!
Grrrrrrrrr !

Well it is an analog gauge for now (digital ones in the mail). But the sides are foggy and everything is very moist. I don't think she's come out of the water for a while day now.

Also, her bowl is huge and she can fit in there no problem. It's nothing desert like for sure. She's got the UTH and a lot of moss in her hide. As well as a 75w infrared bulb for heat.

This this makes me feel better. I'm glad someone else can say their snakes have a similar habit and they're healthy.
