Feeding Hogs

I'll probably give these one of my mock brumations next season and give them a go at breeding in 2017. The girls are all in the 250g range and have really separated themselves from my male - size wise - in the last few months.

You can see the boy in the bottom tub eyeballing me, waiting for his turn. He's not at all voracious though and will sit there waiting for me to present the prey to his face. He then slowly opens his mouth and I have to place it in there before he calmly eats his meal - such a funny fellow!

Females are definitely lot more voracious, I found males to be more on the lazy side.

And yeah size wise when the female get some size they really take off leaving the males behind, one of my girl is 600 grams and males look ridiculous next to her. ;)

Pretty much. The females will have their nose right up at the top of the tub and ready to jump as soon as I slide it out. They're so anxious it usually takes them a couple swings, doing a fair jaws impersonation with the back and forth chomping, before they latch on and start swallowing.
