That snake looks like it could eat a prey item at least three times bigger than that though, def way to small.

I would have to respectfully disagree. In my experience, ball pythons are much more consistent eaters when fed smaller food items. Some of the "my ball python won't eat" problems you hear about can be linked to the owner feeding them way bigger meals than they actually need.

I feed my adult ball pythons nothing larger than a small rat. Even my females that are 5+ feet and as thick around as footballs will only get a small rat.

If after the first small they are looking for more, I'll give them a second. But that's about it.

And all of my ball pythons eat for me every time they are offered food. Go figure! :D

Yeah, i agree.

But in the video it just looked so small compared to the snake. :?

Adam so would it be ok if i feed my python adult white mice till they are almost full grown. I ask this becaues at this time she is feeding live and i will ont allow her to go against a rat and i can't bring myself to smack it on th head before giveing to the snake

Buy some frozen rats then!

She'll do very well on the adult mice for her entire life. You might try offering her a second (or even third) if she is still looking for food after feeding.

Don't be afraid to try a live small rat (supervised of course). I have found that adult mice can be much more aggressive than small rats. I am very confident that if you are feeding her in her enclosure with a hide box available to her that you will not have a problem. If she doesn't take the rat after about 20 mins, just take it out. You should know right away if she is interested or not.
