new girl shedding/feeding problem

This is my first post to the forums. If this has already been answered in a different thread... my bad haha. I have a little bit of, what I think is, a problem. I have had this new girl for about a month and she will not shed. Her habitat is set up the same as my other 3 BP's and I keep the humidity at 60-70% when in shed. She has gotten all of the shed off her head but won't shake out of the rest of the molt layer. My main concern is that I haven't fed her in the 2 weeks that she has been in shed. Snakes always look scrawny or wrinkled in shed but I'm afraid she is starving because she looks skinny. I also like to keep them pretty fattened up. I don't know if I should just feed her (which in theory would seem to loosen the shed around the neck) but I don't want her to hurt herself in the process. Any suggestions? Also she is maybe 10 weeks old so feeding is important.

has she been drinking any water that is in her enclosure, could just be dehydrated if your setup is like you say it is..Me myself wait till the shed is all the way off to begin feeding again, my girl just shed last night but hasn't eaten in 4 weeks but she's still plump though.. i would wait till the shed is fully off then try and feed again on her regularly scheduled feed, just my opinion...:gj:

Thanks a lot I'm just worried because she's young and skinny. Don't want a situation where malnutrition comes into play. I did feed one last year in shed and she had a tear in her neck. I guess I will wait and maybe give her a bath and try to manually shed her.

hmmm, try increasing the humidity a bit first to around 80-90, then if that doesn't help soak for 2 hours then shed should have no problem coming off...

Why would you soak a shedding Ball Python for 2 hours?? 20 minutes should suffice, there's no reason for anything longer than that.

If you are having shedding problems, double check your husbandry, and go from there. Having a bad shed isn't the end of the world, and it does happen every once and awhile.

Might I ask if you are offering food and she is refusing to eat or if you are simply not offering because she's in shed?
