Getting a new kingsnake

As soon as I get it I'll be taking pictures. Anybody have an idea of where to get replacement doors on Exo Terra tanks? I have another tank setup but I'd like get that door as soon as possible

Josh's Frogs might. Exo-terras are very popular with the frog keepers. The site sells lots of odds and ends like hinges and add-locks, etc. I'd contact customer service directly if you can't find it in the on-line catalogue.

Sand won't do anything to a well hydrated snake.

She is beautiful!
The common Desert name is a mis-nomer. They like the wetter places in the South West. Our town in NM is old, with large poplar trees everywhere, willow, mullberry, pecan orchards, green lawns, etc. The oldest 49 blocks have ditch water that comes weekly from spring to fall. Some of the outer larger properties have water rights all year. We had at least two adults come into the yard last summer. (Perhaps the parents of what I have? Don't know for sure.)

Our ambient humidity here is of course low, but the snakes are going to be at ground level in the leaf litter and decomposing old trees. I'm STILL trying to keep the humidity in the enclosures high enough to enable good sheds. I have been experimenting with potted plants in there, and pots of moss. They really enjoy rooting around in those. If my lighting ever gets here (back-ordered), I'll plant the vivs, and see how they do with that.

Hope you can fix your Exo-terra, because there are very active snakes! Mine climb around exploring all night. They have lots of stuff to climb on and investigate, and I switch things out every few days. They can shimmy up the corner of the viv, and jam them selves into an indent in the lid, and shimmy along that! So, make sure your enclosure is secure.

Everyone keeps their animals differently, but it would be a shame to keep one of these animals in a plain sweater box with nothing for it to do. They are a lot of fun to watch, and they seem to keep tabs on what is going on outside the glass too.
