    Extremes Between Normals
So I've really been noticing lately the kind of gradual color change my first ball python is going through.
She started out pretty average looking as a youngster.

At almost every shed though she's gotten lighter and lighter. I didn't really notice it at first, it was so gradual. The last few months it's been striking me every time I open the tub. So I got her out to snap a few pictures after cleaning tubs tonight.

Here she is next to one of my normals (het pied) that I consider pretty typical.

And against the darkest normal in my collection. Talk about one extreme to the next.

    What a neat contrast right?
Anyone else have some neato normals in their collection?

I think there is a chance that your normal is actually a Vanilla. The first pic she is very orange-ish for a normal and then with all of the brightening going on and head blushing, that is pretty typical of the progress of Vanilla. I'd put a Firefly to her when she's up to size and see what comes of it. Nice looking snake.

I've no idea myself but thought I'd ask if those solid lines you see on some Royals indicate anything ....like the one on the tail end on the left one ??

A solid tail stripe can be an indicator of a spector, but I have not worked with the gene. I don't think she is one, however this female was purchased from a vendor at a festival. No history or anything on her. Based on better knowledge and things the vendor said, there is a slim possibility that she's an African import, but again, who knows.

Oh I missed this when I replied earlier. Thank you. She was purchased from a vendor when I first started and I have no history. She has the status of a normal but I like your suggestion. I don't have fire in my collection but would like to add it so I will certainly look into it.

Along with the vanilla theme... do they have clear bellies?

This is from back near the first of the year I believe. You can see the color progression from then to now as well.

Not being a smartalec, but you did just post something.

To clarify, did you mean that you needed to know how to start a thread?

    or

    How to post pictures?
