    Can you guess what ....
    I just thought I'd share this picture with you guys.

    This was taken at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

    Her name is Nickel. (They found a 1975 nickel lodged in her throat, hence the name). It's pretty cool to watch her swim around, as best as she can. She was hit by a boat in Florida a while ago, and has a shell scar. After several months of rehab, she is still unable to swim normally (she can't use the back flippers properly) and she has a bouancy problem.

    She lives in the caribbean community tank at the aquarium.

    And that blurry thing next to her front flipper is a fish.

    cool! loggerheads lay their eggs here on the beach every year. when they start to hatch people will go to the nests to watch the babies make their way to the ocean. of course this is all supervised by local biologists, who also collect any babies that can't make it and rehabilitate them and then release them once they are strong enough. good stuff. :D
