If you haven't noticed, I've been having a lot of fun with my digi cam lately. It is a bit difficult, however, to have a photo shoot with an uncooperative toad.
This is Clementine aka Clammy Clem the garden variety toad. And yes, I've spoken with her about a possible diet. ;)

Thanks. She's just a toad, but she's cute and I like her, even if she's not the smartest thing around.
Hey, she only peed on me once during the photo shoot!

I think she is CUTE- dont put her on a diet! Her chubbiness is part of her charm.

lol! No worries.. even if I wanted her less chubby, I don't think I could make her. I don't feed her a lot, but what she gets goes right to the ol' belly.
The funny part is my mom caught Clemmy in the yard.. I have my mum trained well. ;)

Good job! My mom definitely won't catch herps for me, but Jess and Buddha will, so it works out. ;) I used to love catching frogs and toads as a kid -- sometimes I spent all day doing it.

Oh yes! Defininitely. When I was little it wasn't unusual for me to have 10 toads at a time. Bullfrogs were a perennial favorite.. as were leopard frogs. I always enjoyed watching my first bullfrog eat a mouse. So cute.. with those legs and a tail hanging out of his mouth. (I had to sneak the mouse in behind mom's back) Though now, I have bags of rats in the freezer... with mom's consent! She's come a long way. In fact.. I've bought her a snow corn for her Christmas present. :)
One of my earliest memories (I was like... 3?) was when I found this BIG garter snake in my backyard. I did what my mom told me and ran away, and I told her about it.. she told me it was more afraid of me than I was of it. Afraid? Me? Hah! I went out and watched that bugger. I remember he coiled up and watched me cobra style. It was very cool. I was hooked from then on out.

Hehe- makes me remember when I was a kid, I think around 4 maybe, Dad woke me up in the middle of the night, took me outside to show me this HUGE bullfrog he caught and had in a bucket in our tack room, I wanted to keep it, but Dad would not let me. After that- I was out back all the time playing around the irrigation ditch lookin for that one HUGE bull frog that Dad would not let me keep, boy did I find lots of tadpoles though.

Slightly off topic.. but I was once woken up in the middle of the night to be shown a queen ant of monstrous proportions. She was in a laundry basket.
Bullfrog tadpoles... those things are huge.. take forever to metamorphose too.
I also have my dad trained well. When I was seven years old, my dad was driving to church in the morning one day, and saw a snapping turtle crossing the road. He took it, put it in a box in his car, and after church brought it home to me. I was THRILLED. My first herp I think.. well maybe I had toads before, but a turtle? I was ecstatic to say the least. We cleaned the poor guy up, he had a lot of leeches, but I had him for 6-7 years.
