Frozen vs live

I use live mice, what do you use?

I prefer to feed frozen/thawed, warmed up. However, I now have a house full of mice, simply because my SP girl refuses to even look at the f/t mice, other than to fear-strike at them. She's great on live. It's a 2.5 hour drive to the nearest source of live, healthy mice... which makes it worthwhile to keep a supply on hand. I'm hoping to gradually win her over to the f/t idea, but in the meanwhile I'm starting my first colony just in case.

I breed my mice. If your ever in Southern Wisconsin, I could hook ya up.

Frozen thawed are the best food source for snakes if they will take them. Live rodents can be quite dangerous if a few variables line themselves up right. When dealing with Ball Pythons this can be especially dangerous given their habits of being lackadaisical feeders.

If you have a wildcaught animal that only takes live, fine. But ball pythons and most other captive bred snakes are just short of being domesticated and should have no problems accepting FT.

In before someone throws out this arguement. No there is absolutely nothing morally worse or better with either type of feeding.

I feed live but only because i have a few snakes that will not touch f/t and it is too much of a pain to keep both
and all of my feedings are supervised so to reduce any risk of my snakes getting injured

I only feed live because it's easier for me to get.

Frozen is just far more convenient for me. At some point I'll probably have to start a live colony when I start breeding (though maybe not, I found a local guy that breeds feeders and have been buying my frozen from him. Might be able to let him know my future plans when babies come up and pick up some live meals to start the kids off).

I feed live because my adult male decided to go off f/t and now has decided to only eat live. Then when I bought the baby she was already on live, so not a big for me to just pick up another when I get Jynx's meal.
