    just bought this guy about a week ago .bought as a fire . he has a granite kind of pattern on his side . i saw the sire to the clutch . he had the same granite look down his sides as well .. its probably nothing but i figured id get others input as well

    I have many snakes that have the granite look to them, it doesn't mean it is genetic though. There is a genetic Granite but I just want to let you know that just because your snake has speckles does not mean he is a genetic granite.

    so even if the father of his clutch has them its still not considered genetic ? was talking to the breeder but had to rush because my ride was waiting on me & got caught up looking at all the pied ball pythons he had lol

    It is a genetic trait if it can be monitored from parent to child at a predictable percentage. It does not mean it's a "Morph" is more the point. Minute variations in pattern are perfectly typical in any animal, us included.

    Here is what a fire granite (co-dom) AKA brimstone looks like.

    The genetic Granite is a co-dom gene. It also has a super. You could always breed him and figure it out that way.

    Children often look like their parents. Does that make it genetic? Yes it does. Does that make it a morph? probably not.
