When do females heat seek?

Do females heat seek beginning after ovulation, or only after their pre-lay shed?

Generally after ovulation

Once female ovulate they will seek heat.

Hmm. I think I mighta missed by girl's ovulation. She laid last year in December. She was cool seeking for a while and I swear I could feel some pretty good sized follicles. Now I can't feel them and she's been on the hot spot for the last two weeks.
