In need of a little advice on feeder size for adult male bp
My adult male bp is about 2250 grams as of today, and he's been feeding on 7 adult mice (aprox 150 grams) weekly for almost a year, and he's been doing fine. He doesn't act hungry or aggressive and he is a solid healthy feeling snake. I just wanted to ask if it would be better to bump up his feeding schedule to a larger amount of food weekly, or is it okay to keep him where he is? Also, he used to eat f/t rats, but now will not accept f/t of any kind, and I was considering switching back to rats, but I don't know if that will be a problem since he's been on mice for so long.

Seems everything is going fine so why change?

I agree with Pit. Why fix it if it ain't broken.

Now if you want to switch him over to rats because you're tired of feeding him mice, that's a whole different thing. You might get away with feeding him a few small rats or maybe even just one medium rat.

i'm glad he's eating, but feeding 7 meals to 1 snake seems like a real chore. IMO I would switch to 1 or 2 larger meals. it might be cheaper and should probably save u some time on feeding.

The rats for me would be a total convenience thing (one does get odd looks from the neighbors coming home with a critter keeper full of mice every week), I was just worried that he's not getting enough too, I tend to freak out haha. I'm glad to get a little reassurance here. I was also playing with the idea of eventually breeding a small quantity of mice once the baby gets to adults, but I'm still iffy on that whole thing.

That is a big boy! I would say keep him on your current schedule if that is what works!
