Breeding every year?

How many years in a row should I expect one female to lay on average. Should I give them every other year off. Or if you try to, do they go pretty much every year? Thanks!

I think most people generally like to do two years on and one year off. But I do know of people who breed some every year. Has to do with your females weight. If she still looks skinny/lean, best to give her the year off.

I am sure there are mass producers out there that never give their females a break. Quite often though, the female will refuse to breed if she does not feel up to it. Many breeders will breed the female if she up to or weighs more then she did the previous year.

Some females can and will bred every year for several years, some will will not.

Bottom line know your animals, pair them if they feel right and if they are ready they will go and if not they won't.

They know best.

Watch your snakes, weigh them, learn what isn't right for them.

I breed the females and then based upon weight and body condition will determine whether or not to pair them the following season. I automatically give females the 3rd year off regardless of weight and condition. For me the third is always off.
