Kisame, The Hypo
My fiance and I went to the Richmond Reptile Expo yesterday. I wasn't going to get a snake because I didn't have any spending money left after paying for boring adult stuff. After we looked at all the stand I was prepared to leave when my fiance says I can get a snake for under $200. I never asked or pouted. He just always tries his best to make me happy, and I'm very lucky. I was trying to decide between a female hypo for $100 and a female pastel enchi for $125. The colors on the enchi didn't impress me at all, but this has got to be the bluest single gene ghost I have ever seen. She is in shed though, her eyes are blue. But I'm hoping she is still awesome looking after the shed. I'm normally not impressed by ghosts at all, and my fiance thought she was really good looking too so we ended up going with her. Despite being in blue and getting toted around in a plastic tub and me constantly checking on her heat pack she never hissed or tried to strike. When I got home I put her underneath a hide but she's still exploring and climbing up the tank last I checked about an hour ago. Right now she weighs 96 grams. My stupid phone camera doesn't show how blue she is.

congrats! the ghost gene on your axanthics will look really cool.
also won't she look similar post-shed (except for the eyes), hypo/ghosts always look in blue.

I'm excited for eventual True Ghosts, and tonight one of my friends who has a bp was saying she really wants one.
She'll definitely still look blue, just not sure if it will be as intense after shed. I can't find any during and after pics of shedding hypos to compare intensity, just post shed pics lol.

She was 3/4 of the way through shedding when I was cleaning her tank a few days ago. Guess she wasn't humid enough at the expo because I've had the humidity at at least 65% since getting her home. She's done now, I'll get more pictures tomorrow. She's more of a navy blue now, her colors are very rich, I love it. You can see the difference in color in the pictures where you can see the piece of shed still on. Oh and it turns out she has some cool flames going on. I like to stare at her and all my other pretty snakes :D.

Re: Kisame, The Hypo
nightwolfsnow I really like all the animals in your list. Always nice to see other crazy cat/snake people =)
I obviously don’t mean 'crazy' in a negative sense :D

what a pretty lil girl! so cute!
u could keep her humidity high (and switch to wood substrate to complete the shed) and she will rub off the rest of the shed.

She shed everything else the next day :), all shiny now. Jiraiya started shedding tonight, kinda piecy. I guess because I'm only using a heat lamp because the thermostat I got wasn't working properly. I misted his tank and he went in the water bowl for a minute. Now he's rubbing against stuff to get it off.
