What is your favorite reptile to see when out field herping??
My first "pet" snake was a Rough green snake that my dad caught in the yard when I was a kid. My brother and I kept it in an old 10 gallon aquarium during the summer, feeding it whatever goodness we could catch in the yard, then let it go after a while.

I love coming across these guys when field herping. They are my favorite snake to see when in the field.

Winter isn't really here yet and I am already itching to go field herping next year....ha ha.

These two are my favorite. Finding anything makes it a good day though!

That is how I am as well.

I am easily impressed and excited when I come across any animal in the wild, other than COMMON birds.

The rough green is also my favorite to find here in TX. Possibly because of how bright it is and green is my favorite color.

I also caught this huge rat Snake that was probably about 10 feet, this past summer.

I live near a national park so I have quite an opportunity to be in an area relatively undisturbed by human habitation. Its awesome!

What is the bottom snake? It looks venomous.

The most I ever find around here (here being the golden horseshoe) are Garter snakes. Which my mother still insists are different from Gardener snakes.
