    Stinky Mouse - Bad Mouse?
Hello everyone, I just thawed out my mouse fully after having it in the fridge for about a day and a half. As I was thawing it I noticed an odd smell coming from it, kind of smells like fish? I don't know if anyone else has had this issue before, wondering if the mouse is good to feed to my BP or if I should toss it and go get some more. Kinda feel like a jerk if I do that because he can smell the mouse and is crawling around all over his cage.

It will be fine. Go ahead and feed it. :)

Dead rodents just smell terrible. :\ I've noticed it more on some than others - especially when applying the blowdryer. Sometimes I'm like "eh, gross, but whatever", and other times I have to cover my nose or hold my breath because it hits me like "HOLY DEAD STUFF, OH MY GOD, I can't BELIEVE anything would eat this, HYACCKK". I've not experienced a "fish" smell, but if you visually inspect the prey item and don't see anything gone totally wrong (liquefied insides leaking out holes, extremities turned green or black, etc), then you've probably just got an especially smelly dead thing, and your snake will be the final judge of whether or not it's fit to eat.
