Activity level before eating?
Hi all,
So Today I fed my new friend Alex for the second time. I was pleased he ate, though he had a lot of trouble situating the hopper to eat properly (kept trying to eat it on it's side).
I noticed today he was extremely active all day, roaming around ect. I am doing a 6 day feeding schedule. He is still quite young.
I noticed the same thing last feeding, being very active the day of feeding.
I'm not concerned. More curious if you all's snakes do this as well. I included a photo for size reference. And I think he's pretty cute.
He is never active during the day otherwise. Only at night.http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10...339eb88afa.jpg

Mine don't do it, but I've heard that some will remain in "hunt mode" for a little while after feeding.

Re: Activity level before eating?
Thanks for the reply. He goes straight back to his warm hide after I feed him and disappears completely for 2 days after feeding.

Interesting. He seems to be the odd snake out. He just roams and roams feed day until he gets his food. Then his tank feels a ghost town. Lol

Re: Activity level before eating?
My Sadie gets active a couple days before feeding day but as soon as I put her back after feeding she disappears for a day or two. Jynx on the other hand is a little active, but more so when he sees me bring the feeding tubs into the room, then hides once he's done. I think it is just personality quirks of the individual snakes.

How much does he weigh? You are probably under feeding him.
Hard to tell from the pic but a hopper mouse seems too small. Also when they try to eat the prey sideways it's usually another sign it is too small for them.
