Walter my super pastel male really took a major change in coloring after his last shed. He's 14 months old and 700grms and the really bright yellow is starting to fade out a little bit but the blushing along his back seem to be increasing quite a bit. Is this pretty typical of an adult super pastel as they reach adulthood?
On a side note I'd posted about how he wasn't to thrilled with petstore f/t rats. At the K-zoo expo yesterday I picked up a big bag of small rats from the rodent vendor there. Feeding last night walter slammed and coiled his rat for first time since he'd ate one from the vendor before. All the rats in the bag are clean and look like if you thawed them out they'd run away. Guess he's just a tad picky and I'll be sure and keep stocked up from here on out.

How positive are you about the super pastel because he looks like a normal pastel to me, not enought blushing to be a super imo

I'm pretty much a newb so no way I could be positive but I got him from a decent breeder who sold him as a super and when I got him his yellow was super bright. I knew he would fade out as he got older.

I ask about being a super because he has same blushing and coloration and my girl peach her head a little more blushed but body wise they look the same. My girls just over a year old and after her last shed her bright colors faded alot, yellows and orange darkened alot and the green on her back started to brown out... But im now 3 weeks after her fresh shed and the yellow and orange is a little brighter just not as much as before but the green on her back did come back instead of staying brown

the pattern with narrow bandings looks super to me, just not enough blushing esp. on the head. if blushing is increasing on his back, maybe the same will happen to his head? that's my non-expertise guess. Still a beautiful snake.

This is Yang for comparison. She's sitting a bit above 1300g now as a 4 year old Pastel.

I do see more yellows in Walter, but I'm not sure he's a super either. I just don't see a lot of difference although he is brighter. Age? Don't know. More blushing for sure. Maybe he's just not super bright for a super. Guess I'm really no help here.

EDIT TO ADD: On a second look, I'll go with Super Pastel. Just not bright and blushed out as he could be. The banding and yellows on the sides are right enough for me. Yang is not nearly that reduced.

Well one thing I am pretty sure about if he is a super he isn't a high quality really nice one. I knew that in getting him as I at the time was just looking for a good pet and had no ideas of breeding at the time. I went looking for an affordable morph and just loved the looks of him and he's been super nice. Has never even hissed at me.
Now I am thinking of doing some breeding so I will be able to maybe prove him out. Nothing big time I'd just like to try it if only once just for the challenge and experience. That's still at least 3 years down the road.

I like his head spot though, peach has one on her back thats dead center on one of her blush spots.... Either way super or not he is still a fine looking snake, i always have a soft spot for pastels
