BP peed in narrow, floored hide?
I checked on my girl Cas and a few hours later checked on her again. I came to find she did a real stinky poop :dizzy: Luckily she didn't get it anywhere else really so it wasn't super messy but she was due for a tub cleaning anyway. I went ahead and changed her paper towels and wiped down the tub (I use a tub and toilet paper as a substrate) and noticed that she had peed in her narrow, floored, wooden hide. I'm not exactly sure how to go about cleaning this? It is a narrow, hollowed out log that still has the bottom.

The back is similar, but a little different. The inside texture is just as it is on the outside. I'm just concerned about bacteria festering in there and causing harm to her. Any advice? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question and I should just clean it as normal. Cas is my first ball python and I just want her to be completely healthy and safe so I ask all the questions I have to be completely sure. Thanks in advance! :D

Probably gonna have to throw it out. Or cut the bottom out

I don't know about cleaning out wood, but I'd cut out the bottom so that it won't happen again in the future (if just an inconvenience). Ball pythons often like to poop in their hides, so it's inevitable.

Yea you could clean it and let it dry..this is why i made the switch to ceramic or plastic hides could never seam to get the urine smell out of wood
