Exo-Terra terrariums for colubrids?
Each hatchling is currently in a 10gal tank, approx 20"Lx10"WX12H. Works well, but I have to keep them on lower tables since maintenance is from the top. Front opening tanks would work better in our small house, esp. once the snakes require a larger size. I want a vivarium I can plant. Does anyone have experience with snakes in the Exo-Terras? Looks attractive, but all I ever seem to see in these are dart frogs.
Any reason not to use Exo-terra with a King or Corn?
Thanks.

I rather like the 36X18X18. Haven't priced it - probably a few hundred dollars each with shipping.
Something to budget for for next year.
I already have a yard sale tank that is, IIRC, approx. 12WX30LX20?H. Heavy and cumbersome, but has potential to be pretty if planted well. It is so tall, it will need a low (and sturdy) stand if I ever do choose to use it.
New you are looking at $180 for a 36"L x 18"W x 12"
Bare cage you would be looking at $150 for something bigger (4x2)

I have 2 exo Terra's. They've worked okay. Just bear in mind that if you have curious cats, they will cave the screen in if they sit on top of the cages. The cages are heavy and kind of a pain to clean, but they make good displays and work better than aquariums.

Imo I wouldn't waste 180 on a exo when they have the animal plastics t8 48x24x12 normally for 180 and on sale for 150 right now...way better cages and you ciuld stack a bunch of them on top of each other if you ever wanted to expand.

They are nice looking. I would choose white, and go taller - even if the snake wasn't going to use the vertical space.
The thing I can't get over looking at Boaphiles (spell?) and even the taller AP styles is ...I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC. I get stressed out just looking at them. Same with racks - can't separate myself from the snake - something is just yelling. "get me outtta there!"
Doesn't matter if the snake is content - the sight of them makes me chew my nails. The snake can have all the hides plants and clutter it needs - but I think I still need the glass.
