    Mixing substrates ?
Is there any problem with making a substrate mixing about half cypress half aspen mulch? Ive put my cypress mulch in a bin to dry out some and even after like 3 weeks it's still very damp and if I clean my T8 and replace all the substrate my humidity will be 95+ for a few weeks if not longer. Thought maybe if I mixed it 50/50 with some aspen it would be much better.

I use peat moss topsoil and Cyprus and it always work too good for me in the years I've used it on snakes so there Work why change it

I always mix aspen and Cyprus. I adjust the amount of each to keep my humidity just right, and it works like a charm!

Thanks that's what I'll do. Coming from a glass tank to a PVC cage like night and day on humidity. Glass can hardly keep it up where needed and PVC I have to work to keep it down. With a large water bowl and a skull filled with damp moss I'm running about 70%. When I first set it up with fresh cypress it was like 99% and I had to run my RHP pretty much wide open with the sliding glass doors off for almost a week to get it down to reasonable levels.

Same here. I often do 75%ish aspen to a 25ish cypress. Then I will add a little bit more cypress during shed. That what works for me, good luck!

Keep in mind that Aspen tend to mold very fast in high humidity environment or when in close contact to humid substrate.
