Escaped Ball Python: threat to small children?

HELP! I'm not a snake owner so I don't know anything and need some answers. My neighbor's 2-3 ft. ball python has escaped and has yet to be found. We live in an apt. building and we occupy one of the apts. nearest to the snake owners. I'm concerned as I have a 22-month old and a 5 day old newborn at home. Is there any risk to my children if this snake somehow makes it way into my apartment? Is there anything I can do to keep the snake away from them -- particularly at night as they sleep? Thank you for your help and advice.

A 2-3 foot python is not going to hurt your children, they arent vicious attack snakes and somthing of that size couldent eat anything bigger than an adult rat.

I know some people here have lost snakes and found them maybe they will chime in with some advice on finding it soon.

Im sure that the snake is still in your nieghboors apartment hiding out.

I hope they fine thier snake, and dont worry, there is no danger, if anybody is in "danger" its the snake.

Dont worry, that ball python is no threat to your little ones. I have had snakes around my kids since before they were even old enough to walk, never a problem here. The only one that is in danger is the ball python because it is not in its habitat that your neighbor has for him/her because of cats, dogs, other misc. preditors and the cold this time of the year.

Nope, it cant hurt a child. The only way it would be a threat to you was if you were a mouse :shock: :sprint: ! Good luck to your neighbors finding it!

My Bp actually got away once in the room it is kept in because i was holding her and i was so tired i fel asleep for a hour and then work up really upset!! But all you have to do is look in dark ares, behind bookshelfes, under beds, and stuff like that. I hope they find the BP before it doens't make it with the cold climate or other animals. But you kid are safe. My sisters 2 year old pretty much holds my girl Nyxx and she love him. I really think you have nothing to worry about.
