House temp, what do you suggest for tank heating?
Well I thought I was waiting for my new enclosure for my snake ans I thought shipping and all was taking forever. It turns out my account was trying to be hacked into from China and the card company decided to lock my account, which ironically happened seconds after the purchase I thought I made. Anyway, the screw up and crap got me more time to do research on other equipment I need/want. The biggest problem I've been having is what to do with heat. On average during summer we keep our house from 68-70 degrees, winter we keep in warm in the higher 70s. With that info would you recommend a RHP or UTH?
Re: House temp, what do you suggest for tank heating?
When you buy the UTH order a Thermostat with it very important it can /will get way to hot and can/will burn your Snake. What size is your tank? Is it Glass? Your house temperature if it stays the same year around you will still need to use products to keep your tank at the right temperature, with that said you will also need a heat lamp to keep the temps good , just remember that thermostat. .[emoji106]

An UTH will really do nothing for your ambient temps. If you ordered a PVC type cage a RHP is the way too go. Ive had a T8 from animal plastics going for awhile now with a RHP run off a herpstat 1 and it's really sweet.
Re: House temp, what do you suggest for tank heating?
The RHP's in my T8's are from Pro-products. I'm extremely happy with them and got great customer service when I ordered them. I discussed with the guy there where my cages would be and basic room temp and he recommended a certain size though I can't remember what size they are. Pro products direct shipped my panels to Animal Plastics who pre-installed them in my cages. Once I got everything dialed in they have been awesome.

I'm not sure what type of snake you're getting or what it's husbandry needs are but I think most heat sources will work fine provided they're controlled with a thermostat. I have (4) AP T-8 enclosures. I have UTH's in all of them and I did get the screen cut out's on two of them. I use CHE's or IR heat bulbs to boost my ambient temps in those two. My snakes all have warm sides of 84-88. My humidity stays at 50-60%. I'll probably go with RHP's once I move my carpets into their adult enclosures.
