Ya i just herd about that is that was pretty upsetting. They person just ran up on stage and shot him in the head in front of the whole concert. Then a cop came on stage and killed the guys that did it. I was truly saddened to hear about this, dimebag was supposed to do a show with ozzy i think and now that will not be able to happen. Such a shame what people are capable of. RIP and long live the spirit of pantera. I hardely listen to them anymore but that is unbelievably tragic. I also saw that when the man was on stage before he shoot them he said it was becasue they ruined his life and there music sucks now. Sound like a demented person to me, and now a pioneer to the metal industry had to pay for it...truly tragic

Yeah, sounds like one of those delusional people who should probably be in an institution. Makes me think.. mental illnesses are really horrible. People can have them and hide the symptoms for years, then finally explode in a violent act. I think that in some ways, mental illness can even be worse than some physical maladies. Take depression; a depressed person can be told all their life that "it's all in their head" and "they're not living to their potential" etc. So the person quietly suffers, then snaps one day, when therapy could have saved everyone a bunch of trouble. I hope that anyone with a mental illness understands that there is help out there, and you can definately rise above it and lead a normal life if you want.

Exactly, I knew this woman, she was my friends mother, and they were the PERFECT family, rich, succesful, etc, she was always really nice, she was the bread-winner of the family. One day I got a call, and she had commited suicide. No one knows why, but we think she had a mental problem, that she was hiding.

Yeah it is very tragic. I grew up listening to Pantera and the like. My hubby knows someone who was there that night, and he is still in Columbus answering questions from the police about the incident. It is a shame when ppl have to be that way, I feel bad for his family, esp. at this time of the year to now have to deal with a death in thier family.

Sounds like our old neighbors. It was a couple we lived across the road from when we were in Holland, NY. A few weeks ago, the husband killed himself. They had a gorgeous house, lots of land, money and cars, etc. But I guess none of that is worth a cent if you are not healthy physically and mentally. :( Good health is truly priceless.

Ya my friends dad just commited suicide about 2 years ago, they were also succesful but he had bi polar along with depression. And the instatute that he was a patient in said he could go and that day he went home and killed himself. Its really the most dangerous alment to have(mentel illness). Its one of the things we wish never existed...

Wow he was actually there, that must have been the worst thing in the world to see. I feel so bad for their families and on top of htat the death of truly talented people. I don;t even listen to that kind of music anymore but i still have all of their CD's.

yea i heard about that yesterday, pantera will never be the same!

pantera will be nothing, i don't think they are trying to reform. Everyone that really made the band was killed
