    Is it safe to keep the heat lamps on 24-7 even when you're not home?
    I assume so, but want to double check. They are plugged in a surge protector and I don't use a higher watt than what is recommended.

    My concern also comes from the fact that my building does tend to loose power on a regular basis.

    Yeah you can leave them on 24/7 but the power outages may blow the bulbs prematurely

    Yes and as long as you know it wont heat up hotter than you need it to be for your animal.

    Thanks. That is what I like about the lamps vs the heat pads. I can change the bulb if I need more/less heat. I wish the heat pads came with a dial that allowed me to control the intensity.

    Get a thermostat that does the proportional pulse control.

    That's where a thermostat comes in. :)

    Thermostats are a hand-in-hand requirement with heat pads to begin with.
