White film on the tank?

    White film on the tank?
So my baby, Gaia, has been doing really good. She eats like a champ (despite the hiccup when I switched her to black mice, which she forgave me for and started eating after two weeks), loves being handled, and sheds in one piece. She is very interactive and likes resting her head on her branch and watching me move about my room. It is really cute :) Anyway....so here is my question. There is a white film on the outside of her tank on the warm side. I am able to wipe it off, but it reappears the next day or so. I noticed it a few months ago. At first I thought it was inside the tank and that it was condensation from misting, but then I realized it is outside the tank. I am not concerned about it hurting her or anything, as it is not inside the tank, but I am wondering if anyone might know what it is?

Could it be dust? Did you recently turn on your furnace? I know our ducts get kind of dusty between seasons. Is it near a vent? Maybe it's hard water stains from over spray while misting

Well the tank is not near a vent and we have not turned on the heat yet, but I wonder if the hard water thing might be a thought? I know we have hard water.
