...well, he was about 2 feet long, but he was still a retic. He is owned by a few friends of ours, who know about snakes and are prepared for his future size.
It's amazing how slick and how much more muscular they are, when compared to the feel of a BP in your hand. And those beady little eyeballs are pretty creepy. Cool, awesome snake though.

I held a retic...
Very cool. I wish I could hold one. When I move somewhere more big snake friendly, I want to get a Jampea dwarf. They're so awesome.

Dwarf retics seem cool; do you know exactly how big they get?
I really don't think I'll ever want anything larger than a female BCI. Maybe, just maybe a burm someday, but that's after we buy a house.

I believe I read around 12-13 feet.. sometimes less. But they tend to be more lanky snakes, not so girthy. I don't feel intimidated by the size.. I saw a photo of a full grown dwarf somewhere.
I'd like to get a male granite burm someday. Burms are such big babies.. (at least the ones I know are.. lol)
Also.. I want a female Suri BCC.
Those are the big snakes I want the most.

I held a 12ft. Burm, it was awesome...

Gin, congrats on your first retic holding experience.
I always say how Retics are one of the few snakes that will "look back at you", It can be a bit un~nerving with those beautiful yellow eyes staring back at you.

Our reptile shop has a couple of Dwarf Retics I think they want like $300 a piece for them.

I know what you mean, Rusty. I may never have held one, but at work I see three of them every day. They have the most beautiful, captivating eyes of any snake on the planet. (imho)

That's cheap. I see $600 a lot.

I remember reading up on the dwarf retics, and reading that the person who worked with them since the beginning and breeds them, has never seen one get over 7 feet. Don't hold me to it, though. With my old age, my memory isn't sharp like it once was. ;)
Edit: Now that I think about it...I think I was reading about super dwarf retics. D'oh. :x
