    California red sided garter snake
Looking to get into garters and was wondering if anyone is breeding these beauties. I'd like to pick up a pair of anyone has them available or knows someone working with them. Pic attached for reference.

Look up Scott felzer's garter snakes on google. Thats the only guy I've been able to find that produces more than just checkered or plains garter snakes online.

Check with Casey Lazik. I bought a gorgeous pair from him last year. He has several lines of infernalis so you can even pick up an unrelated pair. I know they generally sell fast so you might have to wait for 2016s to be born.

    Good luck!
I joined the Thamnopsis forum yesterday. Enchanted with these guys myself. Kept coming across garter info. while trying to get natural history information on kingsnakes. I assume the communal dens of northern garters makes them an easier subject for study. Would love to keep a trio in a four or five foot long planted viv with a water feature just to watch the antics. (expensive set-up - gonna be a year or two)

Please post pics when you get one.

Scott Felzer is no longer in the industry. He was one of the original large scale breeders of garter snakes. If it was not for Scott, some of our garter snake morphs would not even be in the hobby. He is still the greatest! However, Jeff Benfer aka "the garter snake morph" is the main large scale breeder of many special morphs at the present time. He does have projects inclusive of the t.s. Infernalis (California red sided garters). You can google " garter snake morph" to access his page. I think he may be sold out at the present time. I will have a t.s. Infernalis project that will have results for late 2016. Good luck and welcome to Thamnophis.

So, all is not lost! Why don't you check with Jeff? He has them. As a matter of fact , he recently put up for sale a large erythrystic female proven breeder. I know she was on fauna classifieds very recently. Erythrystic eastern female! She is huge too.

That particular picture looks altered though (not saying it is). I find similarly slightly altered (IE with filter) on pinterest when I got on there looking up reptile enclosures.
