:xmassanta: delivered me two baby cresties overnight! That's right, they hatched! W00t! It took 76 days from laying to hatching, with an average temperature of just under 75F. I know their appearances will change significantly, but for now they are a red and a buckskin. The dad is red and the mom is green, so it's a definite tossup what they'll look like.

    winter fun?
Definitely exciting! I'm like a kid on Christmas morning, but I promise I'll calm down eventually. ;) If I were really good, that other pair of eggs would still be incubating, but oh well. I am planning to keep these two, kinda like a shopkeeper framing the first dollar she makes. Others can get sold or traded, but these guys stay put. :D Now to figure out names for them ...

Definitely, Vaughn! I can't think of a better present. Although the dishwasher my mom got me is coming darn close. ;)

    Here's some pics:
Both of them together in their 18-qt locking Rubbermaid (hiding spots removed for photo shoot)

The one on the left looks like a dalmation, and isn't nearly as interested in escaping as the other. That one up close ...

And now the other one, a darker red-brown for now and very fast!
