This is not supposed to be your defense mechanism.

My GHI het red axanthic male has a very annoying habit. Apparently instead of balling up, he has decided pooping on me is a far better defense. The instant I pick him up his tail is waving in the air and he's threatening to do it. Does anyone else have a snake with this habit? I'd really like to handle him at some point, haha. And I need to get some better pictures of him. Is he going to grow out of pooping on me? It's almost funny, but seriously, I don't want to be covered in that. At least it's easy to get an empty weight on him... :rolleyes:

My bumblebee used to do it when she was younger even to the point that I would have an old towel out every time I handled her haha she eventually just grew out of it.

I have a baby retic that does it. She's a brat about it too and cuts loose when she has a solid wrap on your arm, and then the tail comes up.

I just keep an old towel handy.

Haha, I've been keeping plastic grocery bags around when I take him out. Sometimes he even gets me two or three times in one handling session. Hopefully he grows out of this. If he doesn't, oh well. I can still breed him.
